Hostile Witness — Communication with resistant witnesses
How do you communicate with someone who has already decided not to trust you? One of the scenarios presented within the POLCOM project highlights this kind of high-pressure communication challenge — a police officer engaging with a witness who is openly resistant and unwilling to cooperate. Through scenarios like this, POLCOM emphasises that communication is a core professional competence that directly affects safety and the outcome of police interactions.

Chris Voss Negotiation Techniques — Tactical empathy and de-escalation
POLCOM is not just about learning communication theory — it is about practicing methods that can truly help in real-life high-pressure situations. Participants can explore techniques such as tactical empathy, mirroring, labeling, and calibrated questions. Inside the POLCOM educational portal, learners can discover these methods through videos, online games, and interactive activities.

Hot Call — Communication training card game
We are happy to introduce one of the interactive outcomes of the project: Hot Call — a scenario-based card game designed to train communication in action, especially escalation and de-escalation of conflict situations. The game can be used online for digital training or as a printed card version for in-person sessions. Available in 4 languages.

POLCOM Project — 3-Day Pilot Testing in Romania
The POLCOM online learning portal is currently being tested during a three-day pilot phase in Romania. During the pilot, 104 students are participating in testing the platform, exploring its content and providing valuable feedback on usability and learning impact.

Lithuania Piloting — Positive feedback from police trainers and trainees
During the end of 2025 and in winter of 2026 the piloting phase involved almost 60 police trainers and trainees at MRU and Lithuanian Police School. Participants shared positive experience about the tasks, tests and games.
